Shidarta

Outstanding Cuban actor in television, theater and cinema. Admired by the public thanks to his character of Shidarta in the telenovela. Thanks to this role he won the admiration of the television audience and favorable criticism from the specialized press.

Charisma, depth in his reasoning and analysis are some of the qualities that define the young actor.

Since childhood Denys used to imitate characters from adventures or cartoons. That was his first approach to acting. The initial push came when one of the boys who played soccer with his brother asked if he liked acting and he said yes. Then he suggested he go to the Casa de la Cultura de Plaza where Humberto Rodríguez had an acting workshop.

He auditioned for the play 'Yerma' by Federico García Lorca and was selected. That was his beginning on stage. From that moment on he discovers that he wanted to be an actor. At 11 years old he gets to know the Escuela Nacional de Arte (ENA) and that was his first perception of where the artists of this country were made.

At 13 years old he joins the project of the great master Adolfo Llauradó "La terraza" where the distinguished actor shaped his artistic vocation. His debut in that group was with 'La cucarachita Martina'. He enters and completes the Escuela Nacional de Arte.

He makes his television debut in the television series Los 3 Villalobos (script by writer Pedro Urbezo and general direction by filmmaker Miguel Sosa), from the space Aventuras, where he played an interim corporal and in which he showed clear signs of his natural charisma.

In 2007 he plays Ahmed in Historias de fuego, a Cuban telenovela directed by Noemí Cartaya, with script by Felipe Espinet and Serguei Svoboda.

In 2010 Denys Ramos plays Shidarta, that contemporary character full of conflicts in the telenovela Aquí estamos directed by Rafael «Cheíto» González, with script by Hugo Reyes and Alfredo Felipe Pérez, produced by Cuban Television in 2010.

Actor Denys Ramos starred as Lieutenant Eduardo Solana in a version of the story El desertor, by Cuban writer Enrique Serpa, a television version that for the first time was brought to the screen, under the perspective of the experienced director Miguel Sosa.

In 2007 he received a nomination for the Caricato award in the Theater for Children and Youth category, for his portrayal of the Scarecrow in The Wizard of Oz.

He has expressed that Adolfo Llauradó was his mentor and guide, until his death.

Denis is transparent, communicative, charming, histrionic, he wins the respect and sympathy of everyone he works with.

His work in the theater group El Público has been another school, another academy, the way of speaking of Carlos Díaz has been essential. Carlos is like a god: he knows what he wants, he knows when he wants it and he never tells you.
