Danny Miranda Agramonte was born on November 12, 1978, in Ciego de Ávila, Cuba. He was a prominent Cuban baseball player and manager, celebrated for his remarkable trajectory both on and off the field. As an active player, he excelled as a first baseman and outfielder, and was part of the Cuban national team that won the gold medal at the 2004 Athens Olympics — one of the most celebrated achievements in contemporary Cuban baseball history.

In 12 National Series seasons, Miranda compiled 1,009 hits, 144 doubles, 88 home runs, and a .290 batting average, establishing himself as one of the most productive hitters of his generation in Ciego de Ávila. He retired from baseball in 2008 and briefly moved to softball before transitioning into coaching and management.

As a manager, he led the Tigres de Ciego de Ávila to the championship of the III Cuban Baseball Elite League in 2025. He also managed the Cuba under-23 national team, guiding them to qualify for the upcoming World Championship. Baseball analysts considered him one of the most promising managerial talents in Cuban baseball. Danny Miranda Agramonte passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2026, at the Antonio Luaces Iraola Hospital in Ciego de Ávila, from a serious intestinal complication. He was 47 years old.
