Cuban singer and dancer Seidy Carrera, known professionally as Seidy La Niña, traveled to Cuba on July 14, marking her first trip back to the island in nearly seven years. Born in El Cotorro, Havana, and based in Miami since childhood, the artist shared the moment with followers on social media.

"After almost 7 years I am in Cuba," she wrote upon arrival, capturing the mix of emotions the trip stirred. Hours later she elaborated: "It has been a very hard day for me. I feel a lot of sadness and happiness at the same time," she said, referring to reuniting with relatives and to the absence of her grandfather, who died while she was away from the island.

Carrera trained at Cuba's ProDanza dance school before emigrating to the United States in 1999. In Miami, she studied flamenco and built a career as a dancer and singer that included appearances on "El Show de Fernando Hidalgo" and a win on Univision's "Viva la Diva" competition. She also portrayed a young Celia Cruz in the musical "Celia, su música, su vida, su leyenda" and has released singles including "Tumbao," a tribute to Celia Cruz herself.

In 2014, she survived a serious car accident that left her in a coma for a month, an episode she recovered from to continue her artistic career.
