A news presenter of Cuban origin from one of the leading channels of Dominican television. Claudio Nasco, a 37-year-old Cuban immigrant with more than a decade in Dominican television.

Nasco was found dead, stabbed in a motel in Santo Domingo.

"We are in mourning for the loss of our beloved Claudio Nasco," commented CDN, a news and sports outlet for which the communicator worked and to which it dedicated a heartfelt tribute.

"He was a solidary person, willing to help anyone," said Nuria Piera, the director of CDN, who praised his performance as a journalist.

"He was excessively religious, he was very Catholic, he went to mass, he sang in the choir of the Santísima Trinidad Church and he also enjoyed and was very responsible with his work," said the journalist.

In 1999 he entered the Seminary of the Salesians of Jarabacoa, in Santo Domingo.

He abandoned the religious path to work in a cafeteria, then a toy store, until he began his career as a television presenter.

The murder has distressed the social communication sector and has caused upheaval in the country. He was very popular on social media; on Twitter he had almost 60 thousand followers, where he tweeted about scientific studies, health, technological advances and some curiosities.

A press release issued by the Department of Information and Public Relations states that Nasco arrived at the aforementioned cabin around 7:55 at night, without requesting any service, other than payment for the use of it. While an hour later, according to the records of the personnel working at the aforementioned cabin, the vehicle leaves, with the cleaning staff finding the body inside the Jacuzzi, explains a note published in El Nuevo Diario.

Apart from his television work, Nasco was in charge of communications for a company.
