Partner at the Tew Cardenas firm. He has been named by Hill newspaper as one of the leading lobbyists in Washington D.C. Cardenas is also a member of the Florida A&M University Team.

Cardenas is an active member of the Republican Party, having served in three terms as Vice President and in two as President of the Republican Party of Florida. He has been appointed as a member of the Executive Committee of the Republican Party, which is the main body for policy of the National Republican Committee. He was the first Hispanic to lead the party in a major state and remains the only Hispanic Republican Party Chair in the history of Florida.

Cardenas received an associate degree from Miami Dade Community College, a bachelor's degree from Florida Atlantic University, and a Juris Doctor from Seton Hall University. He is an alumnus of Florida Atlantic University's Eta Mu chapter of the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity.

He was recently elected Wednesday as president of the Conservative Union of the United States. This is the oldest conservative political organization in the country. Cárdenas, a 63-year-old lawyer, arrived as a refugee to the United States when he was 12 years old. He presided over the Republican Party of Florida.

With his election, he becomes the first Hispanic to lead one of the most important conservative political organizations in the United States.
