Veteran Cuban boxer Roniel Iglesias defeated Mexican Agustín Lugo again in eight rounds and unanimously in a professional card held in the Aztec city of Monterrey.
The scorecards of the judges (79-73, 78-74, 80-72) were evidence of the superiority displayed by the 33-year-old from Pinar del Río in the super welter category bout. By the way, Lugo's record is now 11 wins, 15 losses and three draws, with ten consecutive defeats.
Thus, the two-time Olympic champion signed his second victory in the paid rings, following the one achieved not long ago in Aguascalientes.
The next confrontation of this type of boxer from the national squad will take place on the 22nd in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia, where the three-time universal champion Lázaro Álvarez will fight eight rounds in the super featherweight against Argentine Alexis Torres.
