Cuban comedian Andy Vázquez, best known as Facundo Correcto on the hit show Vivir del Cuento, received emergency care in Miami on Thursday, October 22, after a diabetes-related episode while he was driving, Periódico Cubano, Asere Noticias and Cuba en Miami reported, based on the actor's own account.

Vázquez said he began feeling ill behind the wheel, pulled over, and the person with him drove him to a nearby medical center. There, his blood sugar read 273 and his blood pressure had dropped to 80/40, and he was kept under observation until the early morning hours. Cubaaldia reported that he was later discharged, though still feeling dizzy.

After the scare, Vázquez canceled his show scheduled for Friday, October 23, at Supermachi, where fellow comedian Ramón Mustelier will fill in. "I'm going to take good care of myself, for me, for my kids, for my family," he said.

Born in Guantánamo, Vázquez became a household name in Cuba playing Facundo Correcto, Aguaje and Bienvenido on Vivir del Cuento. He moved to the United States in early 2020 and has kept up an active comedy career in South Florida ever since.
