Cuban-American Actress Camila Duarte to Star in New Turkish Telenovela

Cuban-American actress Camila Duarte Çakır will be the lead in the new daily telenovela, "Leylifer" from the production company of the well-known Turkish actor couple, Neslihan Atagül and Kadir Doğulu.

According to local press, Neslihan and Kadir are fully involved in the Turkish television series production business. Adding this to their acting careers, they established their own companies. The couple's first project will be a drama starring this Cuban actress.

The first television series by Atagül and Doğulu will be called "Leylifer". Camila Duarte Çakır and Can Verel will assume the leading roles of the series that will be directed by Metin Balekoğlu. It is not yet clear which channel will air the project, but the production company's goal is to showcase Turkish culture to the world.

Many compare this upcoming telenovela to the famous, but very long "Elif". "Daily series=like elif= in Spain they compare it", noted a follower of this type of Turkish productions.

Who is Camila?

On her official website, Camila identifies herself as a Cuban-American actress, although she was born in Costa Rica. She studied at the Academy of Arts, where she discovered her passion for acting.

After graduating, she had the opportunity to work on many projects with Arca Images, where she met the renowned Pulitzer Prize-winning writer and director, Nilo Cruz. Camila has worked with him on works such as "Bathing in Moonlight" and "Beauty of the Father", with which she made her acting debut in Spain.

She later received a full scholarship to study at the New York Conservatory of Dramatic Arts, where she acquired her skills in film and television acting.

Since attending NYCDA, Camila has had the opportunity to make some short films, commercials, and recently participated in the program "La Suerte De Loli". She resides in Miami, although these days she is moving around various locations in Turkey.
