Rigondeaux and Gamboa Co-Headline Havana Heat Boxing Event in Miami on May 2

Two of the greatest Cuban boxers of all time, Guillermo Rigondeaux and Yuriorkis Gamboa, will share the same card on May 2, 2026, at the event known as «Havana Heat» at the James L. Knight Center in Miami, Florida. Both legends of Cuban boxing will headline separate bouts at the same event, organized by Nothing But Sportz and Ron Johnson's American Dream Presents.


Guillermo Rigondeaux, nicknamed «El Chacal» (The Jackal), is considered one of the greatest technical boxers in history, with two Olympic gold medals — Sydney 2000 and Athens 2004 — and multiple world titles in the super bantamweight division. Yuriorkis Gamboa, also an Olympic gold medalist in Athens 2004, captured the world featherweight title and has been part of memorable professional bouts throughout his career. Both Cubans represent the pinnacle of a country renowned for the excellence of its amateur boxing tradition.


The «Havana Heat» card features 13 bouts and also includes next-generation fighters such as Pierre Nance, Akeem Cheatham, and Nikita Ababiy. Miami, home to a large and vibrant Cuban community, provides the perfect backdrop for this gathering of two icons of Cuban sport. Tickets are already available through Ticketmaster.
