Cuban-American actor William Levy has averted the forced auction of his mansion in Southwest Ranches, Florida, by presenting a signed sales contract to a Broward County court. The April 29, 2026 hearing marked a turning point in a legal dispute that had drawn months of media attention.

Entertainment journalist Mandy Fridmann reported that Levy already has a buyer for the property and that the paperwork is underway, meaning the debt will be settled by the new buyer. The court set a new date of June 10, 2026 to verify that the transaction closes on agreed terms and that the financial institution receives full payment.

The dispute dates to December 2025, when Metropolitan Tower Life Insurance filed a foreclosure lawsuit (case number CACE-25-013271) after mortgage payments reportedly stopped in early 2025. The accumulated debt exceeds $2.1 million, including outstanding principal, accrued interest, and legal fees.

The case became public in March 2026 when Spanish television program El Tiempo Justo on Telecinco exclusively broke the news of the foreclosure filing. Shortly after, at the Málaga Film Festival — where he premiered his film Mi Querida Señorita — Levy played down the situation: "No, everything is fine, thank God. It's a property I'm parting ways with, and we're awaiting the sale. Everything will be alright," he told the press.

The property was built from scratch by Levy and his former partner Elizabeth Gutiérrez. It is a two-story residence spanning over 8,000 square feet, with six bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a gym, a cinema room, an office, a swimming pool, a tennis court, and a three-car garage. The land was purchased in 2017 for around $700,000. The mansion was listed in July 2025 for nearly $9 million, though by the time of the legal filing the asking price had dropped to approximately $5,995,000.

The June 10 hearing will confirm whether the sale closes as agreed and whether the substantial debt is fully resolved.
