Verónica Lynn, who has been the recipient of the Special Honorary Award for Performance "Enrique Almirante" 2019, awarded by the Artistic Representations Agency Caricatos, asserts that in her 66 years of artistic work, her life has been her profession.

Being a virtuoso of the stage, no artistic medium has been foreign to her performances in various dramatic characters. In theater, Verónica Lynn recalls with special devotion her role in "Santa Camila de La Habana Vieja"; "Aire Frío", a work in which she played the character of Luz Marina; and "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf", in whose production she brought to life Marta, alongside that other great performer José Antonio Rodríguez.

Although she does not like to talk much about herself, her performances keep the talent of this actress alive among the public, both television viewers and those who attend theaters and cinemas.

From her appearances in various television programs, stories, teleplays, series and telenovelas, Cubans especially maintain a vivid memory of Doña Teresa Guzmán in the telenovela "Sol de batey". "It was such a strong character –Verónica says smiling–, that even in these times on the street they tell her: 'Look, there goes the villain of the little birds of Sol de batey. How bad you were!' That's what they call popularity," notes the actress. In her opinion, that telenovela "broke a series of canons in the work of this type of dramatizations in Cuba and the results of its influences have been seen," she points out.

Together with her husband, the renowned actor Pedro Álvarez, now deceased, Verónica created a theater group called Trotamundo, which remains active. Furthermore, she still teaches at the University of the Arts. She believes that the practice of performing various roles, combined with teaching work, has allowed her to refine her acting methods. Her technique is Stanislavski's, which requires a lot of study, but it has worked very well for her.

Speaking about her film ventures, she points out: "it came to me a bit late, but I have worked with pleasure in films such as 'La bella de la Alhambra', 'Las noches de Constantinopla' and 'Video de familia'. She then explains that after some time without doing television in ongoing series, she worked in the telenovela Diana, directed by Rudy Mora. At the moment she embodies a very interesting character in the telenovela Entrega which, although it is not the lead role, Verónica finds interesting because of the environment in which the life of this elderly woman develops, living with her children and a granddaughter, with whom she experiences some difficult situations.

On behalf of the Cuban public that admires her and always shows her affection in the public spaces where they encounter this talented actress, we congratulate Verónica Lynn for the award that Caricatos has granted her.
