Trump asks Otaola for a "red list" of all Cuban artists who have ties with the Island's Government

October 21, 2020

The interview granted yesterday by president Donald Trump to controversial presenter Alex Otaola seems to bring consequences with it as the leader agreed to review a "red list" prepared by him that includes "Cuban artists who support castroism", who would have US visas and travel regularly to American territory.

The King of gossip, before ending the meeting with Trump, asked him if there would be any way to get this list to American authorities, in which singers, athletes, actors and even meteorologist José Rubiera appear.

"That people that you don't want to have here, if you give me the list it will be fine with me, give it to Mario (Díaz-Balart), he has direct access to me and you also have direct access to me", Trump responded to the presenter's request.

"We not only talk about things, we do them", added the Republican candidate for the upcoming presidential elections.

During his show yesterday, Otaola asked his thousands of followers to propose new names to add to the red list that may have some kind of link with the Cuban Government.

Thousands of Cubans have reacted to the encounter between Otaola and president Trump, and although many think it was simply another campaign act by the leader in search of the Latino vote, especially Cuban Americans, others think it could be a real opportunity for him to actually increase his level of influence and pressure on American policy towards Cuba.

During the interview, held at the Trump National Doral golf club in Miami, Trump told Otaola that "Cuba's freedom will be one of my great triumphs".

"All Cuban Americans are very happy with Trump, with me. I think I have 95% [of popularity] in the polls because they know [that Cuba's freedom will be conquered]", the president affirmed.
