Beatriz Márquez and Adolfo Guzmán join together in "Libre de pecado"

September 24, 2018

The renowned interpreter Beatriz Márquez presented today her most recent record production, Libre de pecado, which comes from the hand of the Record Label and Musical Publishing House Producciones Colibrí, to pay homage to the work of maestro Adolfo Guzmán.

A total of 11 melodies authored by that great Cuban composer, pianist and arranger and performed by "La Musicalísima" make up the material, with three nominations for the Cubadisco 2018 Awards in the categories of Songwriting, Liner Notes (Jesús Gómez Cairo) and Recording (Adolfo Martínez "Fito").

At the presentation of the phonogram, which took place at the capital's Hotel Nacional de Cuba, Beatriz Márquez expressed to the press her emotion about the nominations and also referred to the brilliance of maestro Guzmán's work and the desire she always had to sing part of it.

I think that new generations should know all this wealth that the maestro wrote, said the also composer and pianist, faithful exponent of romantic song, filin and bolero, when explaining the motivations that led her to undertake that project, in her 50 years of artistic life.

No puedo ser feliz (1953), Esta noche te encontré (1957), Es tan fácil mentir (1962) and Al fin amor (1964) are some of the songs that make up the production, in which Márquez was accompanied by her daughter Evelyn García in Profecía, and by the Entrevoces Choir, under the direction of maestro Digna Guerra, in Siempre es navidad (1957).

During the presentation of the album, produced by Jorge Aragón, "La Musicalísima" thanked the children of Adolfo Guzmán for sending her the sheet music of the song Por tu falso amor (1970), number seven of the phonogram, which the maestro composed for her and which was recently discovered in his archives.

On that occasion, it was reported that the design was done by Nelson Ponce and the first promotional video clip of the album was presented, made by Ángel Alderete for the song Te espero en la eternidad.
