A very special concert will be held on February 22, at 7:00 p.m., at the Oratorio San Felipe Neri, in the Historic Center, where American conductor Michael Butterman will serve as guest director, leading the Chamber Orchestra of Havana and musicians from the National Symphony Orchestra of Cuba and the Lyceum Mozartiano, together with the Opus Habana Wind Quintet.

Another important event is undoubtedly the Cuban premiere of two symphonic works composed by renowned pianist Aldo López-Gavilán: the Concerto for Clarinet and Orchestra, which is dedicated to his grandfather Juan Jorge Junco; and the second is a piece for trumpet and the same orchestral format.

The soloists will be Alejandro "Coqui" Calzadilla on the clarinet, and trumpeter Mayquel González.

Maestro Michael Butterman returns to Cuba for a second opportunity to take the podium of the chamber ensemble conducted by maestro Daiana García.

Maestro Butterman is the musical director of four American orchestras: the Boulder Philharmonic, the Shreveport Symphony, the Williamsburg Symphony, and the Lancaster Symphony. His work in music education is widely recognized, and he was a winner of the diploma at the Prokofiev International Conducting Competition and a finalist in the prestigious Besançon International Conducting Competition.

These presentations, of great importance for Cuban culture, will be documented in a mini-documentary directed by Rolando Almirante.
