Cuban troubadour and composer Silvio Rodríguez Domínguez received today the Honor Coral Prize from the 43rd edition of the International Festival of New Latin American Cinema taking place in this capital.

At the Charles Chaplin cinema, recognition was given to Rodríguez Domínguez's contribution to the soundtrack of Cuban seventh art in films such as El hombre de Maisinicú, by Manuel Pérez Paredes, and Elpidio Valdés, by Juan Padrón.

I accept this award on behalf of my absent companions from the Sound Experimentation Group of the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry (Icaic), such as Pablo Milanés, Noel Nicola, Sara González, Leonardo Acosta, Emiliano Salvador, among others, he stated. He also made mention of his colleagues Vicente Feliú, Santiago Feliú and Lázaro García, members of the New Trovador Movement that this 2022 celebrates half a century of existence.

I hope that our institutions are increasingly wise and inclusive and that will undoubtedly be what brings us closer to what we dream of, he added. His remarks upon receiving the Honor Coral concluded with a Down with the blockade! Long live Cuba!
