The renowned singer-songwriter Liuba María Hevia has been awarded the Special Prize La Bella Cubana, granted annually by the Provincial Committee of the Uneac in Matanzas to women with a significant contribution to music in the country.

Alfonso Llorens, vice president of the Matanzas Uneac, stated that this guitarist, composer and performer, who is part of the New Trova Movement, "has a very singular body of work that stands out, among other virtues, for the lyricism and human dimension of her songs, for the fusion of musical genres and her proposals dedicated to the children's audience."
