Randy Junco, a young Cuban from Matanzas, captivated the judges of La Voz Rusia, which guaranteed Randy Junior Junco Torres, just 20 years old, to continue in the competition.

The young man managed to stay in the competition after delighting the judges with a performance in which he showcased his Latin warmth with dance and song while interpreting, in his personal style, "Nutbush City Limits" by Tina Turner, in the blind auditions. Three members of the jury gave Junco Torres his pass to the next round, as a reward for his performance that only the audience was able to fully enjoy, in accordance with the competition rules.

In a conversation with TV Martí, Junco Torres said it was an experience he will never forget in his life.

«When you get on that stage you feel so many emotions, because imagine someone like me had never seen anything like it before. And when I got on that stage and saw so many lights, so many things, I got very emotional and I said, well, now I'm going to give my best,» he revealed.

In the Facebook group Cubanos en Moscú, the young man from Matanzas dedicated his victory in the competition to the Queen of the Antilles.

«Guys, I want to share with you this joy that God has allowed me to experience. I participated by bringing honor to my homeland in La Voz Russia 2020…I did it for my Matanzas, I did it for my Cuba…for every Cuban who is forced to emigrate to fulfill their dreams…I love you all very much, and I hope you enjoy it…Let's go Cuba,» he wrote next to the post with the video.

After his performance, the young man spoke with the panel and thanked his wife and other family members for their support and presence at the venue. According to the news portal kp.ru, it was his partner, named Solomina Viktoriya, who convinced him to try his luck in the entertainment world.

Randy is not the first representative of Cuba to qualify on the famous talent show La Voz Rusia.

In 2018, Iliana Sánchez Ballar from Holguín triumphed with her masterful rendition of I Will Survive, a song made famous by American Gloria Gaynor in 1978.

Also his compatriot Yordi Matos captivated with his version of Smoke on the Water by the British rock band Deep Purple, filling the entire stage with his positive energy.
