"Thank you to Garzón and the Ibero-American jury for having honored me with this award, which I dedicate to the Peña de los juglares and its two unforgettable hosts Teresita Fernández and Garzón himself," said emotionally Cuban singer-songwriter Liuba María Hevia, who received on March 30th, at the Center for Modern Art in Madrid, the Ibero-American Chamán Award, which has been granted since 1989 by the Itinerant Ibero-American Chair of Scenic Oral Narration, from the hands of its founder and general director Francisco Garzón Céspedes.

At the ceremony, where Garzón Céspedes presented El cuento es una conspiración, published by Huso editorial, Liuba gifted the attendees her song Tu amor es el canto mío, while publicly acknowledging how important it is for her, in her 40-year career of professional work, to have received this recognition, which was previously received by the unforgettable troubadour and composer, Teresita Fernández, a distinction that the master always referred to with pride.

The Ibero-American Chamán Award has been presented to outstanding personalities and institutions from around the world. In our case, it has also been received by the National Library of Cuba José Martí, and artists linked to theater and scenic oral narration Haydée Arteaga, Nicolás Dorr, Pedro Valdés Piña and Armando Morales.
