After losing six straight Thursdays, last night the White Sox were down four to five in the bottom of the fourth. Then "Pito" Abreu (5-2, 2B, 3RBI, K, .321) said enough is enough and took the reins of the matter into his own hands. That's what the greats do. With the bases loaded, two outs and a two-two count, the pitcher threw him a slider that opened up, wickedly, though not quite enough. Pito stretched his arms, reached the ball and pulled it, sending it to the back of the left field.

Everyone ran.

By clearing the bases, the native of Mal Tiempo turned the scoreboard around and, perhaps, the bad luck of his team over the last week.

Then Yoan Moncada (4-2, HR, 3RBI, 2R, BB, K, .224) connected an incredible hit, at the cost of a fastball thrown at his elbows, and Luis Robert (3-1, 2R, BB, 2K, .223), crossed the plate twice and stole a base.

9 to 5 concluded the game between the White Sox and the Cubs, who in turn, thanks to what happened elsewhere, took the pennant of the Central division of the National League.

In summary: the accolades of the day go to the one who took the reins and to his team.

In total: after driving in more than anyone last year in the American League (123), with one game left in the regular season of this 2020, "Pito" dominates the show with 60 in 59 games.
