Unpublished Pages, with poet, narrator, journalist and filmmaker Víctor Casaus

The poet, narrator, journalist and filmmaker Víctor Casaus will be the guest, on Thursday, June 13, at four in the afternoon, of the space Páginas inéditas, conducted by journalist and critic Fernando Rodríguez Sosa, at the Fayad Jamís Bookstore, at Obispo 261, between Cuba and Aguiar, in the Historic Center of Havana.

At this meeting, in which Víctor Casaus will not only talk about his work but will also share some of his unpublished texts, the troubadour Ariel Díaz will also participate.

Author of an extensive body of work, published both on and off the Island, in Víctor Casaus's bibliography appear, among other titles, the poetry collection Los ojos sobre el pañuelo, Rubén Darío Latin American Poetry Prize 1992; the testimony Pablo: con el filo de la hoja, UNEAC Prize 1979 and Literary Criticism Prize 1983; the short story notebook Sobre la marcha, and the essay Defensa del testimonio.

He has directed more than 15 documentaries –among them, Pablo and Que levante la mano la guitarra— and the fiction feature films Como la vida misma and Bajo presión.

Founder and director of the Centro Cultural Pablo de la Torriente Brau, Víctor Casaus has been recognized with the National Prize for Cultural Journalism José Antonio Fernández de Castro for lifetime achievement, as well as with the Distinction For National Culture and the Juan Marinello Order.

The purpose of Páginas inéditas, created in 2010, is to make known, in the voice of their own creators, unpublished texts, in addition to establishing a dialogue in which the invited writers tell of their literary interests and anecdotes related to their life and work.
