Pablo Milanés will offer a concert in Havana in September

August 22, 2018

The troubadour Pablo Milanés will offer a concert on September 7th at the Karl Marx theater, in Havana.

The composer and performer will return to Cuba after several months living in Spain where he shares a home with his wife.

The concert will be titled Mi Habana and the troubadour will perform his most well-known songs, along with others of recent authorship.

This show is part of Pablo's tradition of singing in Havana in the last months of the year, one of the most anticipated presentations by Cubans during those dates.

The musician has recently performed in various regions of Spain, where he received last June along with Pancho Céspedes the Grámola de Oro award, one of the highest distinctions granted in that country to musicians recognized internationally.

Milanés, who lives between Spain and Cuba, recorded with his daughter Haydée in 2017 the album Amor, which they presented in a packed Karl Marx theater.

The album is composed of versions of his songs in the voice of his daughter, who is carrying out a successful career both in the Caribbean nation and internationally.

The singer is now finishing a deluxe version of that album in which she has as guests important figures in music such as Omara Portuondo, Pancho Céspedes, Lila Downs and Fito Páez.

Pablo Milanés was born in Bayamo on February 24, 1943 and is one of the founders of the Nueva Trova movement along with Silvio Rodríguez.

Before returning to Cuba, the troubadour will arrive on August 24th to the stages of the Spanish city of Murcia.

After his concert in Havana he will perform on September 14th in Barranquilla, Colombia.
