Cuban singer Omara Portuondo announced the nomination for Best Tropical Song at the 2021 Latin Grammys for the song Bolero a la Vida that she sings together with Gaby Moreno.

On her Facebook profile, the Diva of Buena Vista Social Club thanked the Guatemalan artist (vocals and production) for the composition, along with Santiago Larramendi, of the "wonderful" work that makes up the second single from her most recent album.

Likewise, the artist assured that it was a pleasure to share with these performers and also sent her gratitude to the work team, her family, and the Latin Academy of Music.

"A whole life fits in a bolero" concluded Portuondo, who a few weeks ago proudly celebrated the distinction of this Cuban genre as Intangible Heritage of the nation.

This declaration deserves it and we should not stop until we achieve its recognition as Heritage of Humanity, she wrote on August 25th, a day after officially announcing the news.

The so-called Bride of Feeling acknowledged the achievement of those who with their interpretation defended and continue to exalt the value of bolero, feeling, and Cuban music, which she described as one of the most valuable treasures of the island.

Meanwhile, Moreno herself described the song as a summary of what Omara has conveyed to the world with her music and said, furthermore, that the album is a symbol of renewal for her long career and a true privilege for her.

The recording has the support of producers Ariel Jiménez and Pedro Pablo Cruz, the sound of Orestes Águila, international artists such as Dionne Warwick, Raphael, Susana Baca, Natalia Lafourcade, as well as Amaury Pérez, Alexander Abreu and the Orquesta Failde for the Cuban side.
