The young Cuban Olivia De Armas, just 19 years old, arrived in the city of Miami, in the United States, three months ago, and plays her violin on the street to make a living.

"I just arrived from Cuba, support an artist with passion," reads a sign that accompanied the girl during a performance of hers on the streets of Miami.

In conversation with a journalist, De Armas said that she studied music at the National School of Art. Likewise, she explained that she currently works as a music teacher, producer, while also entertaining parties and events in "The City of the Sun."

When questioned about her aspirations in the United States, the young woman answered that there are several.

"Well, truthfully many, in the short term to play violin at different events and teach music classes," she said. "I'm also a lover of production, and I would like to organize workshops on personal growth, in different areas," she added.

"In fact, in Cuba I created a campaign against all types of discrimination, with which I made a video clip, workshops against discrimination with non-state businesses. In the long term I would like to create a project to help people with fewer financial means to study music and teach them to organize their time and their energy, I believe that every human being is capable of fulfilling their dreams and I would love to contribute a grain of sand to the lives of different people," she emphasized.

The young woman explained the reasons that drove her to leave her native country and assured that she is seeking a better future and to grow as an artist.

"As I think everyone knows, the situation in Cuba is critical, and I think that life should be lived to the fullest, to dream and fight every day to make those dreams come true and in Cuba it's very complicated. So I decided to come to the United States, to grow as an artist, but above all as a human being. Coming completely alone to fight every day to be what I dream is quite a challenge, but I'm sure it's worth it," she noted.

De Armas shared her impressions about the city that welcomes her and referred to Miami as "a great city, with a lot of ethnic variety, I think that's what makes it fascinating. With a lot of life."
