The Bells of Juana la Loca, a novel by writer and journalist Marta Rojas, will be studied in schools in Argentina. The work, the author's latest release, was selected by the National Advisory Commission (CAN), which was composed of 204 specialists in different areas and jurisdictions.

"The first edition of The Bells… in this country was published by the editorial Punto de Encuentro, in Buenos Aires (print) and the second by Corprens Editora, whose presentation took place via the internet, with the presence of the author, from Cuba," commented to Granma Pedro Jorge Solans, director of Corprens Editora.

"Our publishing house made the proposal to the Ministry of Education. Marta Rojas's novels are on their way to becoming a classic of Hispanic American literature. It offers an original perspective on Hispanic identity in the region, following the violent conquest suffered by indigenous peoples," he noted.

"Moreover, these are novels written in an intercontextuality that resembles the principles of the ways we read today, following the emergence of communication technology with artificial intelligence," he added.

The proposal took place within the framework of the National Reading Plan of the Ministry of Education of the Nation to promote and guarantee the right to reading for children and adolescents.

Along with the work by Marta Rojas, the novel El gaznapirón, by Peruvian Alejandro Sánchez-Aizcorbe, was also recommended by this publishing house. The recommended works from its catalog renew its commitment to the promotion of Argentine and Latin American letters in the national and international spheres.
