Miami's longest-running Halloween attraction is handing its stage to Cuban music. House of Horror Haunted Carnival, now in its 25th season and newly relocated to Tropical Park (7900 SW 40th St., on Bird Road), is devoting its October Thursdays to a series called Noches de Reparto, with Gente de Zona, Dany Ome, Kevincito El 13 and L Kimii among the announced acts.
The series opened October 1 and continues October 8, 15 and 22, with performances from 8 to 10 p.m.; the carnival itself runs 6 to 11 p.m. on those nights. Each evening mixes live sets, dance showcases, artist meet-and-greets, fan fests and DJ sets, and it is all included with general admission, which also covers the haunted houses and carnival rides.
The program is produced with Baila con Micho, the dance academy run by Cuban dancer and choreographer Micho Valdés, who has worked with Shakira, J Balvin, Marc Anthony and Gente de Zona. His dancers perform alongside the artists throughout the run.
Born in Havana's neighborhoods, reparto has become one of the most popular sounds among young Cubans on and off the island, and it now fills clubs and festivals across Miami. House of Horror stays open at Tropical Park through November 1.
