Comedian José 'El Chico Bombón' passes away unexpectedly at age 56; found dead in his home
The actor, who became very famous for his parodies of artists on social media, also participated in the film 'Un rey en la Habana'.
José Ricardo Téllez Fernández, Cuban comedian better known in the media as 'El Chico Bombón', was found dead in his apartment in Miami by his friends, according to information shared on social media by figures close to the deceased comedian.
At this time, the causes of death of José Ricardo Téllez are unknown, so the police are investigating the cause; he was 56 years old at the time of his death.
"We only know this much. The causes are currently being investigated. As soon as I know something, I will inform you," said comedian Luis Silva, from Vivir del cuento in the comments section of his post.
The news, which has shocked his followers and the Cuban entertainment world in general, was confirmed, among others, by comedian Andy Vázquez.
According to several internet users cited by the media Cuba Llama, it was revealed that "the Police were at his house" and they mentioned that the comedian would have died apparently from a heart attack.
'El Chico Bombón' had been living in South Florida for several years; Téllez regularly worked in theaters and nightclubs for the Cuban community, who especially enjoyed his impressions of urban artists such as Jorge Junior and El Micha.
Before emigrating, this comedian had already become an icon of Cuban humor, especially through performances on the island's nightclub stages.
José Téllez was born on August 13, 1968 in Havana. Although he graduated in Industrial Mechanical Design in 1988, his true vocation has always been connected to art, humor, and music.
From a young age, Téllez showed an innate passion for making others laugh, which set the direction of his professional life.
His artistic career began in 1989 as part of the comedy group Los Hepáticos, alongside the renowned Carlos Vázquez, known as 'Riquimbili'.
In this stage, he participated in significant events such as the first Aquelarre National Humor Festival in 1993, a milestone that solidified his presence in the world of Cuban comedy. Actor Luis Alberto García has recalled his appearance on that stage.
