The renowned Cuban orchestra Los Van Van, directed by Samuel Formell, premiered the promotional music video for the single Se Muere de Sed la Tía on digital platforms, commemorating the 52nd anniversary of its founding.
The song is included in the group's most recent album production titled Songo, on the market under the label of the Company of Recordings and Musical Editions (Egrem).
The group created by bassist, arranger and composer Juan Formell in 1969, celebrated its 52nd anniversary on December 4th with about thirty recorded albums and important recognitions, among which the Grammy Award in 2000 stands out for its CD Llegó… Van Van (Van Van is here).
The songo rhythm, created by Formell together with pianist César "Pupy" Pedroso and percussionist José Luis Quintana "Changuito", is the sound that has distinguished the orchestra's work since its inception and with which it has performed on several of the most significant stages in the world.
Also known as "the train of Cuban music", for many Los Van Van is one of the most important popular dance music groups on the island. The popular orchestra has scheduled presentations at the Cali Fair, Colombia, at the end of this month, and in Chile in January 2022, according to its official Facebook profile.
