Lizt Alfonso Dance Cuba (LADC) company shared the stage in this capital with artists from the Fundación Conservatorio Flamenco Casa Patas from Madrid, Spain.

The unique show took place at the Teatro Nacional, under the title Raíz de 4 and was the second occasion that the Iberian entity and the Cuban ensemble joined their forces as part of a cultural exchange project between both institutions.

Since 2018, LADC has collaborated with the Fundación Conservatorio Flamenco Casa Patas, founded in 2000 with the aim of becoming a center where all activities related to the teaching, research and promotion of flamenco singing, playing and dancing are brought together.

According to a statement from LADC, with Raíz de 4 they aim to show the most primitive roots of flamenco and delve into the mixture of cultures and Spanish folklore.

The choreographies included in the show featured bamberas-romaces, zapateado, alegrías, martinete, musical, soleá and bulerías; performed with live music by invited artists from the Foundation.

The protagonists of the production were Spanish dancers and choreographers Rafael Peral and Marisa Adame; accompanied by LADC, a company applauded in more than 200 cities around the world for the impact of its fusion style, which combines elements of flamenco, ballet, contemporary dance, folklore and diverse popular dances.

Following the presentation in Cuba, the Spanish dancers will continue on an artistic tour through the United States, while LADC will maintain preparations to perform for the first time in Lima, Peru, where it wants to exhibit the show ¡Cuba vibra!, which has brought them great success with audiences and critics in recent times.
