Cuban television received a pleasant surprise on July 13 with the reappearance of veteran actor Jorge Ryan in the first episode of the summer season of the police drama Tras la huella. The episode, titled Cortar la cadena, was broadcast during prime time on Cubavisión and marked the return of the beloved performer to national dramatic productions after several years of absence.

Ryan's presence on screen did not go unnoticed by viewers, who immediately expressed their joy on social networks.

In recent years, Jorge Ryan's appearances on national television had been limited mainly to his role as a reciter at political and cultural events, moving away from the dramatic characters that made him a beloved figure for the Cuban public. This absence had generated some nostalgia among his followers, who fondly remembered his performances in various productions.

Facebook users were quick to recall some of the most emblematic characters from Ryan's television career. Among them, his portrayal of Tito in the police drama Su propia guerra stood out especially, a role that remained engraved in the collective memory of Cuban viewers and demonstrated his versatility as an actor in the police genre, to which he would return in episodes of Día y noche and Tras la huella.

The enthusiasm of fans was evident in the comments, where many asked for the actor to appear more frequently in current television productions. This demand reflects the affection that the Cuban public feels for Ryan and the recognition of his acting talent, forged over decades of work in national cinema and television.

Jorge, born in Camagüey on June 13, 1954, has an artistic trajectory spanning more than four decades. His film debut came with the film Maluala, directed by Sergio Giral and released in 1979, a performance that not only marked the beginning of his career but also earned him recognition at the I Festival of New Latin American Cinema in Havana, establishing his credibility as a performer early on.

Throughout his television career, Ryan has participated in numerous productions such as Destino prohibido, Los pequeños fugitivos, and El guardián de la piedra, and his versatility has been demonstrated through his ability to adapt to different genres and formats, from historical dramas to contemporary police stories, always maintaining a level of performance recognized by critics and the public. His on-screen presence brings an interpretive solidity that enriches any production in which he participates.

Jorge Ryan's return to Tras la huella represents not only an opportunity for new generations of viewers to discover his work, but also an emotional reunion for those who have followed his career from its beginnings, but... will his participation in this summer season of the police drama mark the beginning of a new stage in his television career?
