One of Cuba's great soneros has just passed: the renowned performer Antonio (Tony) Guzmán, director of the Tony Guzmán Orchestra and his Poder Latino of Villa Clara, died at the age of 58.

He began in the 1980s in the Amateur Artists Movement of the Central University "Marta Abreu" of Las Villas. In 1994 he created his own group, with which he achieved successful results both nationally and internationally throughout all these years.

Recipient of several distinctions for his outstanding performance, he won the affection of his people through his interpretive quality and his humility.

A fervent defender of Benny's work and considered by experts as one of the most genuine interpreters, for his voice and charisma.
