The artist had a prolific career in Cuban radio and television, remembered especially for her voice dubbing of children's characters.
Ileana Cordobés passed away this Monday, May 20, in the city of Havana, at 80 years of age.
After nearly six decades of a prolific career in radio and television in Cuba, the performer passed away, leaving a legacy that transcends her country, and that will be maintained for the youngest.
And it is that, although she ventured into all media, her most transcendental legacy was in radio, where she imitated children's voices, leaving an important legacy for the youngest.
Named as an Artist of Merit, Cordobés directed and acted for several decades. On social media, the official CubaActores website laments her passing, while characterizing the actress as a distinctive figure of the media in the Caribbean nation, praising her great talent.
"Ileana Cordobés dedicated her life to enriching Cuban culture with her incomparable talent. As an actress and director, she knew how to transform every project in which she participated into pure art," the statement reads.
In the same publication, the text also assures that "her legacy will endure in each work that had the privilege of counting on her participation".
Born on February 11, 1944, the artist was recognized for her children's voices and her familiar presence on television screens in adventures and serialized programs.
In 2018, she was awarded the ACTUAR 2018 Prize for Life's Work. On social media, her work colleagues and followers lamented her passing in various posts.
