Former Cuban baseball player Kendrys Morales, who retired from the sport in 2020, has revealed that he currently dedicates himself to raising pigeons.
In an interview with the independent sports-specialized portal Swing Completo, Morales clarified that he has no current relationship with baseball.
"Now I have pigeons," Morales stated, specifying that he raises messenger pigeons, unlike his compatriot Raisel Iglesias, who dedicates himself to raising fancy pigeons.
When asked about his possible connection with the Cuban Professional Baseball Players Association, an entity created last year with the objective of assembling a team of emigrated Cuban baseball players to participate in the latest World Baseball Classic, Kendrys Morales flatly denied any connection with the sport and expressed his aversion to lies.
"I have no relationship with baseball at this moment. I don't like lies, I have not returned to baseball for those same reasons, because to stand there and tell lies, I don't say anything," Morales emphasized.
Kendrys Morales retired from baseball after a successful career that included a notable trajectory in Cuba and 13 seasons in Major League Baseball, where he played for seven different teams.
At the time of his retirement, Morales highlighted the difficulty of the decision and expressed his desire to spend more time with his family and recover what he had lost due to his professional baseball career.
