The documentary Tiempazo, by filmmaker Aurelio Prieto Alemán, premiered on December 7 at the José Martí Memorial Auditorium in the capital's Revolution Square.

In this audiovisual, the sports journalist from Tele Rebelde summarizes in 55 minutes the social and sports life of Paralympic and world multi-champion Omara Durán Elías, an athlete in the T-12 category (Profound Visual Impairment), pride of Santiago and all of Cuba.

Aurelio Prieto Alemán argued that this idea comes from a search of archives he had kept since 2007, when he first saw the paralympian run.

He had planned to finish the documentary in 2016, but finally completed it this year, after Omara achieved three gold medals at the recent Paralympic Games in Japan.

After enjoying the video, the indomitable sprinter, 30 years old, thanked everyone who in one way or another participated in its production, especially its author, a colleague who exclusively told Radio Rebelde that he will dedicate himself from now on to making documentaries.

Durán Elías, named The Daughter of the Wind, boasts within her achievements 8 Paralympic titles, a feat accomplished from London 2012 to Tokyo, Japan 2020; she is currently the best athlete in her category at the world level.

This material will be published next week by Cuban television, when the Cuban population will be able to enjoy the story of this Champion of the track and of life.
