Cuban table tennis player Estela Maria Crespo Cardenas won the silver medal in the individual women category at the Central American and Caribbean Table Tennis Championship, held in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, concluded on April 15, 2026.
The young player from Villa Clara delivered the standout performance of the Cuban delegation, becoming the only Cuban representative to reach an individual final. On her way to the gold medal match, Crespo defeated Mexican Monica Munoz (4-3), Puerto Rican Alondra Rodriguez (4-3), Guatemalan Daniela Linares (4-1), and then staged a comeback against Puerto Rican Edmarie Leon in seven sets to book her place in the final. However, in the title match, Mexican Clio Barcenas prevailed 4-3 to deny her the gold.
Cuba closed its participation in the Central American and Caribbean Championship with eight medals in total: Crespo s silver and seven bronze medals in team and doubles events. In the men s draw, Camaguey s Adrian Perez reached the bronze after falling in the semifinals to Mexican Rogelio Castro.
At just 20 years old, Estela Crespo consolidates her position as a cornerstone of Cuban women s table tennis, building on the credentials she first showed when winning team gold at the San Salvador 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games.

Estela Maria Crespo Cardenas is a Cuban table tennis player born in 2005 in Villa Clara, Cuba. She has been part of the national team since the age of 14 and is considered one of the brightest prospects in Cuban table tennis.At just 18 years old, she represented Cuba at the XXIV Central American and Caribbean Games in San Salvador 2023, winning the gold medal in the team event alongside Idalys Lovet and Daniela Fonseca.
