Mountaineer Yandy Núñez, who on May 17th became the first Cuban to climb Mount Everest, is currently dedicating himself to promoting his own travel agency to Iceland, the country where he has resided since 2015.

After reaching the highest point in the world located at 8,848 meters above sea level, the 35-year-old alpinist created his travel agency Icecube Tours six months before departing for Everest and is now focusing his energy on "moving it forward." "Other things will come eventually but right now I want it to grow a little bit," he points out.

In this regard, it is important to note that the name of his young company is a tribute to what he considers his two homelands: Ice for Iceland and Cube for Cuba.

Not without clarifying that he has "many ambitions in this life" because "I want and want and want to do more things," Yandy reveals that he has already resumed his work as a tour guide "with tours in Spanish and in English" that can "be personalized if the client wishes."

With an adventurous spirit that awakened after discovering the "wonderful contrasts" of Iceland's geography, the Havana-born man who has also been a fisherman and ship painter explains that upon his return from the Himalayan mountain range where Everest rises, he was able to improve his company's conditions since "I bought myself a high-class seven-seater Mercedes Benz."

Always persistent in his ideas to the point of "being a nuisance" because he always struggles with determination to achieve his goals, the distinguished mountaineer specifies that to make travel reservations with Icecube Tours you can write directly to his Instagram or Facebook accounts or through the number 354 784 0027.

Among the services offered by Icecube are visits to glaciers, ice caves, waterfalls, Viking villages, and a black beach with basalt columns.

According to Yandy, one of the "most popular and fabulous" tours is the South Coast of Iceland which features waterfalls, cliffs, glaciers, a black sand beach, and a fishing village called Vík. In 1991, that beach was selected as one of the most beautiful non-tropical beaches in the world.
