The documentary titled Running for the Revolution, dedicated to the life of Cuban Olympic double champion Alberto Juantorena, will be able to be seen in almost the entire world starting in August, according to an announcement by World Athletics (WA) on its digital portal.

The website of world athletics announces on its homepage the international launch of this production, which had its premiere during the International Film Festival of Havana last December and will be available on iTunes and Amazon platforms.

If we ever needed proof that sport not only reflects social and political trends, but shapes them, Running for the Revolution is it, expressed WA president Sebastian Coe about a film directed by acclaimed filmmaker Mark Craig.

Juantorena won the 400 and 800 meters at the 1976 Montreal Olympic Games and is still the only man to achieve such a "double," but he also stands out for his work for many years as president of the Cuban Athletics Federation and the different international responsibilities he has held.

The current member of the WA Council is one of the most charismatic athletes in the world, committed to the social process that formed him and the sport that he loves. All of these facets are reflected in the film, where several of his rivals from his golden era also appear and the political context in which his entire career has developed is presented.

The champion's life beyond the track, his friends, his facets as a father and husband, bring a human sense and bring closer the man who is identified in the world as the face of Cuban athletics.

From August 2 and 3, the film will be available for the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Ireland, and other countries in Europe and Latin America, as well as in most Asian and African nations.
