New artists join the lineup for the seventh edition of the Havana World Music Festival (HWM), which will be held on March 19, 20, and 21, 2020.

Several months ago, the Festival's Organizing Committee announced the first batch of artists that will be at the event, among whom are Silvio Rodríguez (Cuba), Lin Cortés (Spain), Waahli (Canada), Havana Meets Kingston (Cuba-Jamaica), Brenda Navarrete (Cuba), Nengón Kiribá (Cuba), and Toques del Río (Cuba).

This week it was announced that a very special participation in Havana World Music 2020 will be that of Danay Suárez, who for the first time in her career will be singing at a festival on the Island.

"My expectation is to bring together everyone who follows my music and reach other generations at the HWM, the first music festival in which I perform in my country. I believe that the public in Cuba deserves the best proposal from an artist and it is not always possible to achieve due to technical conditions; for that reason, working with festivals that offer you all the resources to put on a quality show generates high expectations in an artist," she stated to the HWM Organizing Committee.

Coming from Brazil, singer-songwriter Rommel Ribeiro will join, who, with a wide versatility that allows him to sing in Spanish, French, and Portuguese, blends sounds of Brazilian music with Afro, funk, jazz, and reggae.

The British band Wara will also arrive in Havana, known for promoting Latin American rhythms such as cumbia and mambo.

From Germany will come Tóke, an artist of Indonesian origin who mixes reggae with soul, in songs where spirituality and self-reflection are the main themes.

On the Cuban side, the William Roblejo's Trio ensemble joins the festival, founded in 2010 by the violinist of the same name, and in which jazz is combined with rhythms such as blue grass, bossa nova, classical music, flamenco, and Cuban music. In addition, there will be Nube Roja, one of the leading bands of the dance pop scene on the Island.
