In constant defiance of the limitations imposed by Covid-19, the Cuban group Cimafunk invites you today to dance from anywhere in the world with their most recent musical proposal: CunCunPrá.

The new EP (extended play), which brings rhythm to the final days of 2020, includes five tracks alongside important legends and pop stars from the island and Mexico, as well as exponents of funk from New Orleans, United States.

Designed to shake off the melancholy of quarantine and urge movement in the new normal, the production has as its central theme the eponymous song, which offers a fusion of Caribbean flavor with African rhythms, funk and disco.

In a press note, Cimafunk points out that the album provides a mix of sounds and summer heat that convey the message of having fun, alongside a group of talented women and incredible artists, composing, recording and filming videos.

Among the tracks stands out La papa, with singer Diana Fuentes; an R&B version of Parar el tiempo, with Mexican Salma; El potaje, with Omara Portuondo, Chucho Valdés, Pancho Amat and the Orquesta Aragón, as well as the single Caliente, which unites the creativity of New Orleans and La Habana with the TankBall, by Tank and theBangas and TheSoulRebels.

Recently, Cimafunk offered a virtual concert, which under the title of Locura en cuarentena, served as a stage to promote songs such as El Buey cansa'o, Lean on me, Al otro lado del río, Azúcar pa' tu café and Caliente en el frío.

Led by Erick Iglesias, the band also produced this year the animated series Cimafunk en la casa, designed by Haydée Fornaris and which offers various 'super funkys' gifs, based on Iglesias' routine during quarantine.
