Cuban Mijaín López, attraction at Dominican Hall of Fame

"Mijaín, the attraction of the ceremony," thus titled the newspaper Hoy its material about the 58th edition of the event, celebrated the evening before at the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center, in this capital.

The Cuban is considered the greatest Olympic athlete in history in Greco-Roman wrestling and one of the greatest legends of all time, indicated the newspaper of national circulation.

López was recognized for his successful sports career by the directors of the Hall of Fame Committee, the publication added, and noted that the giant of Greco-Roman wrestling is the maximum winner of gold medals in his sport at the Olympic Games, with five in total.

Also the newspaper Al Momento dedicated space to the presence of Mijaín López at the Ceremony, an occasion in which he was greeted by Creole athletes exalted to the Hall of Fame and personalities such as former president Hipólito Mejía and the president of Centro Caribe Sport, Luis Mejía.

Al Momento reported that Mijaín López was the guest of honor at the Ceremony and summarized the extraordinary sports career of the also five-time world champion.

Likewise, Diario Libre noted that Cuban wrestler Mijaín López was distinguished, "one of the most decorated athletes in Olympic history."

Similarly, Colimdo.org pointed out that when speaking at the ceremony, Mijaín López "appreciated being recognized in the country where he began his career to stardom, in reference to the fact that in 2003 he won his first medal at Pan American Games in the Dominican Republic."

Momento Deportivo, Noticias Sin and other local media highlighted López's attendance at the Ceremony, in his capacity as special guest.
