The animated short film Tito Reacts to Alicia Alonso will premiere this weekend throughout the country, as a tribute to the Prima Ballerina Assoluta from the series of the well-known Mexican character.

According to Daniel Martín Subiaut, creator of the charismatic character, both the script and production are his work, and in this episode he will bring the history and legacy of the renowned dancer for the knowledge and enjoyment of new generations.

The creation process was supervised by Pedro Simón, director of the National Dance Museum, while the short will share theater space with the feature film Elcano and Magallanes, nominated in 2019 for the Goya Awards as best animated film.

This episode of the animated series, a production of the Latin Institute of Music (ILM) in collaboration with the National Ballet of Cuba, pays tribute to the only artist who, without being a musician, received the Star of the Century award from the ILM, in the year of her centennial, and will premiere on the official Tito Reacts YouTube page on February 1st.

Martin Subiaut shared, when the series was first presented in Cuba, that it seeks to highlight the patrimonial value of Latin music, and the success of the series speaks for itself, as it has been news on countless occasions.

In 2020 it went viral in Latin America thanks to its spots about COVID-19, in turn, the protagonist character of Tito Reacts became the first animated character in Cuba whose protagonist was taken to live-action.

Likewise, it has had an impact on both television and radio, and was again brought into the spotlight with its first book, which was announced, will arrive in braille format, audio story and graphic exhibition at the 2021 edition of the International Book Fair of Havana, which still must confirm whether it will take place or not due to epidemiological conditions.

This book, characterized as an inclusive product, given the goal of reaching children with special educational needs, will also be presented at different book fairs worldwide, such as those in Mexico and the United States.
