Cuban singer Isaac Delgado and his group opened this Friday the first day of the Habana Más Festival, which began the popular celebrations for the capital in its five centuries of founding.

During the presentation, the well-known Chévere de la Salsa invited the dancers who supported him with the Cuban clave, who applauded his singular voice and style; meanwhile, they hummed, in chorus, popular songs like Que pasa loco or El solar de California.

Likewise, the salsa artist gave a performance filled with the good energy of his music followers and gifted more contemporary songs such as Salsa, timba y amor, from the album Supercubano; and La costumbre, a duet with urban artist El Chacal.

Long live Havana! We are here to sing to this beautiful capital, blessings to all its children, and to those who live in it, affirmed the representative of Cuban timba on the popular Piragua stage before an audience eager to recall his most acclaimed creations.

Delgado thanked the orchestra musicians who showed their best talents on stage, especially pianist Víctor Campbell, who masterfully performed his instrument during the interpretation of the iconic song El guayo de Catalina, by Cuban composer Arsenio Rodríguez, immortalized by the group Irakere.

In his extensive discography, the artist has shared vocals with great exponents of salsa, among them, the renowned Celia Cruz and Grupo Niche, while his interpretive talent has been admired on important stages such as Madison Square Garden.

Soon, the singer will promote his most recent album Lluvia y fuego in New York, which compiles genres such as feeling, bolero, son, guaracha and rumba, and, in its 11 songs, pays homage to musicians Benny Moré and José Feliciano.

Sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and the Cuban Institute of Music, the musical event featured the prior presentation of the folkloric group Yoruba Andabo, a solid exponent of the rhythms that make up African roots in Cuban culture.

The Habana Más Festival will host, until November 3rd, renowned orchestras from the musical scene on the Caribbean island, among them, Formell y los Van Van, Elito Revé y su Charangón, Osaín del Monte, along with Telmary and HabanaSana.
