Outstanding Cuban baseball player who plays as shortstop for the Holguín team in the National Baseball Series. He stands out for having a good arm, speed and being a good hitter.
He holds the record for most hits connected by a Holguín baseball player in one season, with 130, set in the LI National Baseball Series. He has a degree in Physical Education.
He was born in 1988 in Buenaventura, Holguín, Cuba. Since childhood he practiced sports. He started with the Calixto García municipal team in 2005, which finished as runner-up in the national club championship in the provincial tournament that year.
He has a degree in Physical Education. He dedicates his free time to watching television, especially sports broadcasts. The quality he most admires in a human being is humility.
He made his debut in the XLV National Baseball Series. Athletic results both in defense and offense have been stable in the 7 seasons he has played. He has shown qualitative growth over time, and his performance in the 2011-2012 season allowed him to rank among the best shortstops in the country both defensively and offensively.
In the LI National Baseball Series he achieves the best performance of his career, averaging .351, playing all 96 games of the team and breaking the hits record for a Holguín player in a national series with 130. He also achieves an important defensive result, being the best defensive shortstop of the season with an outstanding average of .985 with only 7 errors committed. For this performance he was selected to the All-Star Team of the LI season and also won the Gold Glove. For this performance he was included in the pre-selection of Team Cuba for the friendly series with Nicaragua in June 2012.
He again joined the national team in a matchup against Mexican professionals and later, in November, participated in the tour through Asia where they played against selections from Taipei, China and Japan.
During the LII National Baseball Series he was part of the Orientales team in the All-Star Games held in Sancti Spíritus Province; he also was part of Team Cuba in the Matchup against Nicaragua and was selected as part of the roster that traveled to Mexico as part of preparation for the World Classic, remaining as a reserve among the 36 pre-selected players. That year he also participated in the matchup held with college athletes from the United States.
For his results during the season he is selected as a member of the All-Star team for the second consecutive year, winning the Gold Glove and the Silver Bat.
He was selected as the best athlete in team sports in 2013 in Holguín province.
He was part of the Pre-selection of Team Cuba that faced the Bilateral Baseball Matchup with college athletes from the United States from July 24-28, 2014 at Victoria de Girón Stadium in Matanzas and Capitán San Luis Stadium in Pinar del Río, remaining on the roster representing the Cuban team in this event.
In 2015 he again joined the national team that participated in the Bilateral Matchup against a selection of American college baseball players, in the bilateral matchup against the Nicaragua team and in the Toronto 2015 Pan American Games.
On January 8, 2017 in a game between the Matanzas and Granma teams, the selection he joined as reinforcement during the semifinal of the LVI National Baseball Series, he reached one thousand hits in Cuban baseball in a game held at Mártires de Barbados Stadium in Bayamo, facing pitcher Yoanni Yera. Manduley did not play in the qualifying season due to an injury from which he appears to have fully recovered, nor did he play full-time in the CanAm league, where he plays with the Capitales de Québec team.
In April 2017 he was given the opportunity to join the rosters of teams in the Canadian American Independent League (Can Am), as part of the relationship between the Cuban Federation and that institution.
On September 4, 2017 it was announced that together with Yurisbel Gracial and Lázaro Blanco, members of the Capitales de Québec in the Canadian-American league (Can-Am), they were included in the All-Star Team of that tournament for their outstanding results during the qualifying stage.
