Servando Eugenio Carvajal Moreno

Biology Professor. He was a regional culture delegate in the municipality of Chambas and Assistant Director of Work at I.N.T. He worked as a specialist, work organizer, human resources manager and cultural promoter at Central Máximo Gómez, and after the disappearance of CAI he moved to Tarea Álvaro Reynoso as a History professor.

He wrote stories, narratives, articles, chronicles and testimonies since 1965. He is a member and founder of the Federico García Lorca Literary Workshop. His works have been published in the magazines Cuba Internacional and Revista Somos Jóvenes, Periódico Palante, Invasor, and he contributed images to various municipal and provincial publications. He has published the testimony La Ruta Kassinga by the Provincial Center of the Book of Ciego de Ávila in 1991 and the book of stories Proa al Sol Ediciones Ávila 2001.

He has also completed (ready for publication) Las Parrandas de Punta Alegre, Pasión y Vida de una Tradición and the book of stories Estampa de un Pueblito Cangrejero. He is founder and president of the Evelio Losada Díaz Literary Workshop of Punta Alegre and has collaborated with Periódico Invasor with cultural and news works since 1980, as well as the literary supplement imágenes of that newspaper. He is the Official Historian of the Máximo Gómez Community Council.

Distinctions Awarded by the Ministry of Culture
20 years of work as an amateur artist by the Ministry of Culture.
Diploma for outstanding work in the conservation and dissemination of cultural traditions.
He has participated continuously in meetings and debates of provincial literary workshops from 1980 to 1995 (with diplomas accrediting this).
Diploma as outstanding amateur of the CTC on October 15, 1983 and February 13, 1895.
Recognition for his active participation in cultural and recreational activities developed over 28 years by MINAZ.

Other Activities

He founded, directed and wrote the critical bulletin humorous script El Látigo of S.N.T.A from 1978 to 2001, and actively participates in provincial events on sugar heritage where he obtained 1st place in the 3rd meeting. He has completed the history of the Central de Punta Alegre (Máximo Gómez) to present this year.
