Rolando Segura Jiménez

Segura holds a degree in Journalism and is a reporter for the Cuban Television News System.

He graduated in Journalism in 1991. That same year he began his professional career as a journalist at the CHTV Television center and is currently working as a Reporter for the ICRT News System. Due to his seriousness and responsibility as a journalist, he has participated in various national and international events.

He fulfilled an Internationalist Mission covering the Comprehensive Health Program in Zimbabwe and Equatorial Guinea.

In 2002 he taught courses on Social Communication at the Autonomous University of Baja California, as an adjunct professor at the University of Havana.

He is a member of the National Committee of UPEC. He was a delegate to the 6th Congress of UPEC.

He is a deputy to the National Assembly for the municipality of Centro Habana. He is currently a correspondent for the multistate channel Telesur, in which he has demonstrated high-level professionalism against the constant manipulations of communications multinationals, served in Libya, and now in Venezuela.

Awards and Recognition
For his performance as a Telesur correspondent in Libya, he was awarded the National Juan Gualberto Gómez Prize.
