He is a young Cuban pianist. He is the youngest member of the UNETE Artist Network of the United Nations System in favor of NO violence against women and girls, Ambassador of the Iberoamerican and African Network of Masculinities.
He is the son of singer-songwriter Rochy Ameneiro and accredited producer Josué García. He studies piano at the Manuel Saumell Conservatory, under the tutorship of teacher Hortensia Upman and later at the Amadeo Roldán conservatory under the tutelage of pianist Aldo López-Gavilán.
At age 11 he formed the trio Eleven, which allowed him to participate in the music video with Aldo López Gavilán's theme Variaciones de Meñique para Rodrigo, under the direction of filmmaker Lester Hamlet.
In 2012 he performed a concert in Spain. The presentation took place at the Yemayá Cultural Center, directed by Pilar Zumel, a great friend of Cuba, its culture and its artists. The program consisted of classical and popular pieces by authors such as Schumann, Monpou, Astor Piazzolla, Aldo López-Gavilán, Antonio María Romeu and Dayramir González.
As part of his debut on the peninsula, he accompanied singer Rochy in two of the songs that the performer sang to the audience during her recent national tour Against violence in music, and for the century of feminism in Cuba: Quisiera, by Gerardo Alfonso; and 20 años, by María Teresa Vera.
He was named Cultural Ambassador of the Iberoamerican and African Network of Masculinities, made his debut with the Youth Symphony Orchestra conducted by teacher Daiana García.
He has shared stages with important figures such as Aldo López Gavilán, Dairamir González, Ernán López-Nussa, Rochy Ameneiro, Carlos Varela, X Alfonso and Raúl Paz.
He directs the musical group "Ceda el Paso" made up of a group of young musicians led by pianist Rodrigo García Ameneiro, who perform various genres and authors. The songs are by Rodrigo himself and by authors such as Aldo López Gavilán, Tom Jobin, Ceddar Walton and Herbie Hancock among others.
Awards
First place in the prestigious international competition Vivo, held in early 2018 at Carnegie Hall in New York, among other accolades.
Second prize in the Amadeo Roldán Provincial Piano Competition.
Award for Best Composition at the Stanford Jazz Workshop 2016.
