The founder-director of Rodríguez y Quiroga is one of the most respected architects in Miami.
Raúl Rodríguez knew he wanted to be an architect from the time he left Cuba at age 11, when he carried the imprinted memory of Havana's buildings with him.
Over the last thirty years he has earned the trust of his clients, as demonstrated by his repeated commitments in the public sector with federal, state and municipal governments and in the private sector with major developers and corporate clients.
He has been one of the drivers of modern Miami. His participation in public and private projects such as the renovation of the Freedom Tower and the American Museum of the Cuban Diaspora, or the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts –just some of the buildings in the city where he has left his mark– has been recognized by the Cintas Foundation with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
Rodríguez is a problem solver who does exactly what he says he is going to do. He has served as President of the Florida Building Commission, President of the Art in Public Places Foundation of Miami-Dade County, and President of the Historical Association of South Florida.
Rodríguez was honored on October 10, 2019 at a ceremony at the Lowe Art Museum of the University of Miami, where the winners of the 2019 Cintas Scholarships were announced, which recognizes Cuban or Cuban-descendant artists.
