El Chacal
El Chacal is a Cuban reggaeton singer, clearly the leader of the urban movement on the island and founder of the Hip Hop school in Cuba.
He was born in Havana in "El hueco". He was nourished by the popular atmosphere that he clearly reflects in his songs, at first only as a hobby and for fun; later he discovered that he truly enjoyed it. He actively participated in events and performances at the Casas de Culturas, from where he shared his experience with his fans and followers.
By 2003 he had finished his studies and reached the right age to continue as a professional, founding his own project called (Los Chavos) and strengthening his vocation as an author and performer within the urban movement. With this group he had slight success in recognition that would later help him be contacted by music producer Baby Lores, who invited him to be part of a group called Clan 537 that was part of the Benny More company.
In that group he worked for a period of six months, managing to record three record productions and also performed more than 500 presentations throughout Cuba, in addition to collaborating with other Cuban singers such as Eddy K and Yulien Oviedo.
In 2009 he launched as a solo artist and signed a record contract with the company Hitow Entertainment, under this label he published his first studio album called Reporte and two years later he released his second record material called El Clave, the latter consolidating him as a singer of the Cubaton movement.
During this time he creates joint productions with other artists, such as Charanga Habanera and Haila María Mompié.
His charisma and talent classify him as one of the most stable artists in terms of his successes at the international level. In 2010 he worked on his album "El Clave", which included a more professional and pure sound, developing songs such as "Masi", "La corrupción", "No te vayas", among others. This album shows the neighborhood humility he has as an artist: "Here, people love me, they respect me. I grew up here, so people always see me as a kid, not as El Chacal, and that's what I love I can be myself", he says in his song "La Habana".
After this he formed, together with another Cuban singer named Javier Prieto Cedeño, the duo Chacal & Yakarta, with which he released the singles «Raka Raka» and «Descarada» that gained popularity at the international level and even led them to perform a tour in the United States in 2013, although later the duo dissolved because both decided to pursue different paths. Famous compositions were "Bruto", "El tubazo", "Sonando contigo", "Control", "Luna", "Rastrilla", "Pa' que se venga" and "Raka raka" which increased his level as an artist.
A scandal tarnishes his image in April 2015, when the American company All Star Promotions sued them for alleged fraudulent actions and scam, as they made known through a statement, in which they claimed that after they invested a large amount of dollars, they would abandon their artistic career.
In 2016 back as a solo artist he participated in the collaboration on the single «Ay mi Dios» with I Am Chino, Yandel and Pitbull. The single reached the top positions of the main Billboard charts such as #1 on Tropical Airplay for 13 weeks, #1 on Latin Rhythm Airplay for 37 weeks, and #9 on Hot Latin Songs for 26 weeks.
On December 2 of that same year he released his studio album called Los éxitos (Lo nuevo y lo mejor) which ranked at position 27 on the Top Latin Albums chart for one week.
In 2017 he won a Premio Lo Nuestro in the Urban Collaboration of the Year category and received a nomination for an iHeartRadio Music Awards for the single «Ay mi Dios».
By mid-2017, the music video for the single "Culpables" premiered, which immediately earned him thousands of views on YouTube. On this occasion it was directed by Cuban Pedro Vásquez and produced by DJ Unic, leaving good comments on social networks and great acceptance from listeners, despite the romantic and soft approach it achieved the admiration of his followers.
Other collaborations have been made between El Chacal and other renowned artists such as Jacob Forever, Don Omar, Jay Maly Yey Garbey, Yomil, Candy Boy, among many others.
2019 was one of the best years for Chacal. The extensive list of songs includes "Hoy lo que toca es party" (with Alex Duval), "Novela de amor", "La duraka" (ft. Harryson), "Tequila", "Champagne" (with Yakarta and NKM01) and "La Mentira"
In 2020 he published a new Album called "El Gustazo" that contains 8 songs, in this Album also participated: Cuban Deejays, El Chulo, Alex Duvall, Rosario (His sister), Louis Mikan, Lenier Mesa, Yomil & El Dani, Srta. Dayana, El Micha, Yet Garbey, Adriano DJ, Enzo la Melodia Secreta
On November 20, 2020 he publishes his album "EDDLF (El Demonio de la Fama)", thus demonstrating his work during confinement and from which songs such as "Cupido", "Infieles", "Amores Perros" and "Pensando en Ti" emerged. In addition to the album's tracks there are others such as "Te Odio Mi Amor", "Cho-cu-te" and "Mi Corazón es Tuyo"
