Yumurí
He is a charismatic sonero, a salsa singer by birth, unmistakable for his vocal register and improvisations, with an unmistakably Cuban stamp. Yumurí has the quality of bringing to the stage all the force that the contemporary sense of Cuban popular music requires.
This original musician comes from a Havana family of great musical training. It is worth mentioning that one of his brothers is the distinguished flautist Orlando Valle "Maraca". In 1987 he began his professional career in the arts and a year later he joined the prestigious and popular Orquesta Revé as vocalist, where he remained for four years as lead singer.
After these experiences and with the goal of broadening his artistic and musical projection, Yumurí decided to form his own orchestra together with three of his four musician brothers.
Since then and to date, Yumurí and his brothers have dominated the top positions of the Hit Parade on national radio and television.
Owner of his own style for interpreting Son and Salsa, Yumurí has taken his music with great success throughout Japan, Europe, Mexico, Colombia, Ecuador, Jamaica and others.
He has shared the stage with figures of the caliber of Oscar de León, Tito Puente and his Orchestra, Juan Luis Guerra and La 440, Compay Segundo, and internationally renowned groups such as La Orquesta de la Luz del Japón, among others.
His discography already comprises seven productions, among which stand out: Cocodrilo de Agua Salá (1993), Olvídame si puedes (1999), Bilongo (2002), Salsa y Candela (2004) and his most recent production Cubano Cubano (2009). With this last album Yumurí places himself again in the top positions on the Cuban radio and television success charts with the song "Pegaito a la tarima" and wins the CUBADISCO 2009 Award in the category of Popular Dance Music, reaffirming himself in national taste and preference.
In the summers of 2008 and 2009 Yumurí and his brothers carried out a National Tour from East to West which was a great event, as they held more than 20 continuous and uninterrupted concerts throughout the entire Island that managed to draw hundreds of thousands of Cubans of all ages who filled the plazas to dance and sing their songs.
With a national popularity that testifies to his talent and international experience spanning several continents, Yumurí is shaping his professional career, making history in contemporary popular music.
Yumurí is a people's sonero who has known how to win the affection of all his public and continues forward with even more strength now with the new production Cubano Cubano for all salsa lovers who appreciate good, authentic and flavorful music.
