Miozotis is a multi-award-winning journalist from Camagüey. Reporter for Radio Rebelde. The only one in Cuba and in the Central America and Caribbean Region who has received on two consecutive occasions (years 1998 and 1999), the Henry Dunant Excellence in Journalism Award, from the International Red Cross, as a screenwriter and director in the documentary and testimonial genres.
She graduated in journalism from the University of Santiago de Cuba. She holds a Master's degree in Communication Science.
Since she was very young, fresh from the halls of the University of Oriente, Miozotis Fabelo Pinares has devoted her youth and the best of her life to thinking about how to do better journalism, and to building it by exalting those who build good human work and criticizing those who choose otherwise.
She took her first steps in the press in the News Department of Provincial Radio in Camagüey. Since 2008 she has been a member of the National Committee of the Union of Journalists of Cuba (Upec). She has collaborated in several spaces of the print press, radio and television and on the website Cubaperiodistas.
Her journalistic instinct, constant investigation, depth of message, truthfulness, immediacy and ardent expression to reflect reality, have opened the doors to important and diverse events within and outside the country.
She shared the internationalist mission of Cuban doctors in Honduras and lived the experiences of the collapse of the socialist camp in the former German Democratic Republic.
She has served as a journalism professor at the University of Camagüey. She participates in workshops specific to radio and provides fruitful work as a mentor and instructor of students.
You can find Miozotis every morning, early on, in her reports on Haciendo Radio of Radio Rebelde, and also any day, time or corner of the Agramonte region, you can see her, recorder in hand, in search of the news. And it is that happy obsession with informing, guiding, communicating and transmitting with agility, has characterized this multi-award-winning reporter for more than 35 years in practice.
