Manuel Duchesne Morillas

Flautist and orchestra conductor. Born in La Habana.

Founder of the Orquesta de Cámara de la Habana in 1934.

From 1939 onwards, he was part of the Banda Municipal de La Habana as a flautist; of which he was subdirector starting in 1949. An excellent interpreter of his instrument, he was part of various orchestras.

He was part of the Banda Municipal de La Habana. In 1970, upon the death of Gonzalo Roig, he assumed the direction of the Banda Nacional de Conciertos, a position he held until his death in October 1990.
